A handful of Rathfarnham athletes bravely toed the line in the Phoenix Park on New Year’s Day… clearly having respected the recovery process and taken it very handy on the celebrations the night before 😉🍾
Dermot Shiels led the charge, first Rathfarnham finisher in 18:04, placing 4th in his age category in a seriously competitive field.
Hot on his heels were Ronan Byrne (18:33) and Ross Griffin (18:41). All three are deep in training for the upcoming Art O’Neill — suffering now, suffering later 😅
A massive shout-out to Sheelagh Jones, who stormed to victory in the F65 category, winning by a distance in an incredible 22:00 flat 👏🔥
Pearse Coyle rounded off the Rathfarnham contingent with a solid 30:04.
Next up: The Pat Hooper Perpetual Cup (Dublin Masters XC) in St Anne’s Park this Sunday, Jan 4th — where the festive cheer fully wears off and the suffering continues 🥶💪
