🚦 Raheny 5 Mile – 2026 Edition: The Race, The Traffic, The Triumphs! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
The Raheny 5 Mile took place today at 3pm, and with 4,000 runners flooding the streets, the crowds were massive and the traffic situation… well, let’s just say some of us spent longer getting to and escaping Raheny than actually running the race. A true test of endurance on and off the course.
Despite the chaos, the club delivered some outstanding performances, especially in the M65 and F65 categories.
✨ Gerry Boyle and Martin Kelly powered home for a brilliant club 1–2.
✨ Sheelagh once again dominated her field — at this stage she’s practically a force of nature.
Strong runs came from across the squad:
💥 David Reidy, our favourite PRO, proving he’s more than just a man that can use what’s app and Facebook.
💥 Johnny Hughes, making a fantastic return after over a year battling injuries.
💥 Michéal Murphy, putting in a solid shift accompanying Gerry around.
💥 Sean McCarron and Catherine Kelly, both delivering great performances on a hectic day.
A brilliant outing overall — huge crowds, big results, and traffic that deserves its own medal ceremony
